Sandusky Attorney: Maybe He Was “Teaching Kids How To Shower”Give me a break. Turns out that Rominger's statement was so dumb that even he didn't believe it:
“Some of these kids don’t have basic hygiene skills,” attorney Karl Rominger said. “Teaching a person to shower at the age of 12 or 14 sounds strange to some people, but people who work with troubled youth will tell you there are a lot of juvenile delinquents and people who are dependent who have to be taught basic life skills like how to put soap on their body.”
“Some commentators have argued that I am saying that Mr. Sandusky showered with youths and touched them inappropriately for the purpose of teaching them how to shower,” Rominger said. “That is not what I said.”Somebody should remind Rominger that like his client he has the right to remain silent.
“First, there’s no evidence of inappropriate touching in a shower, except for discredited statements from the grand jury presentment,” he said. “Further, Jerry has maintained his innocence and denies any sexual touching or inappropriate touching in the shower.”
“Therefore, I would like to clarify that I am not suggesting that this is what happened in this case, but was answering questions about possible motivations an individual might have for an adult to shower with a juvenile,” he said.
If you buy a card that allows you unlimited access to a city subway system, and you then sell swipes from your card to let others access the subway system on your card, are you guilty of theft? No, says the New York Court of Appeals in People v. Hightower (Dec. 11), because you legitimately own the access that you are selling:Well good grief! By that logic food stamp recipients are free to go out and use their tax payer funded cards for frappuccinos and lobster tails at will. Heck, why even use the thing for food? You own it, trade it for drugs and a hooker. People on welfare deserve a nice night out, too.
Oh Lord it’s hard to be humbleI don't know, I see Obama as more of a Tom Petty "It's good to be King" kinda guy:
when you’re perfect in every way.
I can’t wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better loking each day.
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.
Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble
but I’m doing the best that I can.
I used to have a girlfriend
but she just couldn’t compete
with all of these love starved women
who keep clamoring at my feet.
Well I prob’ly could find me another
but I guess they’re all in awe of me.
Who cares, I never get lonesome
cause I treasure my own company.
Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble
when you’re perfect in every way,
I can’t wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.
Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble
but I’m doing the best that I can.
I guess you could say I’m a loner,
a cowboy outlaw tough and proud.
I could have lots of friends if I want to
but then I wouldn’t stand out from the crowd.
Some folks say that I’m egotistical.
Hell, I don’t even know what that means.
I guess it has something to do with the way that I
fill out my skin tight blue jeans.
Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble
when you’re perfect in every way,
I can’t wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.
Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble
but I’m doing the best that I can.
We’re doing the best that we can
It's good to be king, if just for a whileIt is hard to know how to properly honor a man such as Obama but Paco has a suggestion. In any case, it is clear that we are not worthy.
To be there in velvet, yeah, to give 'em a smile
It's good to get high, and never come down
It's good to be king of your own little town
Yeah, the world would swing if I were king
If Tebow wins the Super Bowl, against all odds, it will buoy his faithful, and emboldened faithful can do insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants. While America has become more inclusive since Jerry Falwell’s first political forays, a Tebow triumph could set those efforts back considerably. After that Tebow will bring plagues, pestilence and forty days and nights of non-stop rain.
Eric Holder is the worst of the worst AGs. The dude should be out on his can over Fast and Furious, and he's long epitomized the administration's culture of corruption. Now he's arguing that to look the other way amid blatant voter fraud is a "moral imperative." Right. Give me a break, you crook.Holder has set his sights on voter ID laws. Did you know that it is racist to require identification to vote? But then, what isn't racist these days?

Many on the Democratic side wish Hillary Clinton, Gov. Jerry Brown (Calif.), Gov. Martin O’Malley (Md.) or Gov. Andrew Cuomo (N.Y.) were running instead, but the president still has time to learn a thing or two from these skilled politicians. I’ll still take Professor Obama over the “goat rodeo clowns” the Republican field offers, but I fear the overall student body — American voters — will give him a failing grade next November if he doesn’t improve his performance.Yeah, the "goat rodeo clowns" thing was snotty but consider the source and all that. The interesting points are that a) Dems wish that they had a nominee other than Obama b) Obama has a lot to learn and c) Obama is likely to get a failing grade-i.e., lose. If it is true that Dems yearn for Jerry Brown they are for more desperate than I imagined.
Early in his administration, President/Professor Obama repeatedly referred to “teaching moments.” He would admonish staff, members of Congress and the public, in speeches and in private, about what they could learn from him. Rather than the ideological or corrupt “I’m above the law” attitudes of some past administrations, President Obama projected an arrogant “I’m right, you’re wrong” demeanor that alienated many potential allies. Furthermore, the president concentrated power within the White House, leaving Cabinet members with no other option but to dutifully carry out policies with which they had limited input in crafting and might very well disagree. From my experience, this was especially true in the environmental, resources, housing and employment areas. Not by coincidence, these areas have also been responsible for much of the president’s harshest critiques."Rather than the ideological or corrupt “I’m above the law” attitudes of some past administrations,..." That's rich coming from the team that gave us Solyndra but then Dems aren't exactly known for self-awareness. Luckily Dems live in an irony free world, otherwise the disconnect between words and their deeds would crush them like a cockroach beneath a stiletto. Bottom line, Cardoza is calling Obama a "smartypants". Who knew?
BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, Texas (AP) -- The bloody drug war in Mexico shows no sign of relenting. Neither do calls for tighter border security amid rising fears of spillover violence.
This hardly seems a time the U.S. would be willing to allow people to cross the border legally from Mexico without a customs officer in sight. But in this rugged, remote West Texas terrain where wading across the shallow Rio Grande undetected is all too easy, federal authorities are touting a proposal to open an unmanned port of entry as a security upgrade.
Factories where people thought they would retire suddenly picked up and went overseas, where the workers were cheaper. Steel mills that needed 1,000 employees are now able to do the same work with 100, so that layoffs were too often permanent, not just a temporary part of the business cycle. These changes didn’t just affect blue-collar workers. If you were a bank teller or a phone operator or a travel agent, you saw many in your profession replaced by ATMs or the internet. Today, even higher-skilled jobs like accountants and middle management can be outsourced to countries like China and India. And if you’re someone whose job can be done cheaper by a computer or someone in another country, you don’t have a lot of leverage with your employer when it comes to asking for better wages and benefits – especially since fewer Americans today are part of a union.Gee, why do factories suddenly pick up and flee to China? It wouldn't have anything to do with our ridiculously high corporate tax rates or an EPA that is running amok or a National Labor Relations Board that believes that it should be able to dictate to private businesses would it? And how many times is Obama going to repeat the lie that bank tellers are being replaced by ATMs? Even die hard Lefties know that isn't true. Maybe if more bank tellers were unionized those mean old ATMs would quit snatching their jobs away. Right.
I'm not sure it is going to take a few years.Give it a few years and the archbishop will be replaced by the Ayatollah of Canterbury and the play will be re-titled Murder in the Mosque.
I honestly don’t see any point in trying to sugar-coat this: why are we letting the enemy moderate our debates? If the big networks aren’t willing to hire any non-liberal-Democrats full-time, they should at least have access to some who are willing to moderate GOP debates on a contract basis.I am not opposed to the debates. We need to know both where the candidates stand and how they will handle themselves in a race against Obama. The Republican nominee must be able to deal with a partisan Main Stream Media that will pull all the stops to get Obama re-elected. That doesn't mean that the candidates should allow themselves to be used as punching bags. In 2008 John McCain refused to punch back. He may have believed that he was taking "the high road" but the country ended up with a Marxist as president. Newt is doing well with the Tea Party because he is viewed as a fighter and somebody who will not only punch back but punch back twice as hard.
Most of the questions Stephanopoulos and Sawyer came up with tonight were clearly designed to do one of two things:
1) Throw out more heat than light, and set the candidates to squabbling over non-issues, while making sure there is as much bad blood on the stage as possible; and
2) Put each potential candidate in a position such that he/she had to either throw out red meat to the base (which can be used in attack ads next year in the general election, to turn independents against whoever the candidate is), or stand there holding their dicks/boobies looking stupid.
